Bruce’s primary degree is a BA in Philosophy from The Milltown Institute, upon completing this, he embarking on a successful 9-year career in financial services. He worked as a financial consultant in several different brokerages around Dublin, helping people with their personal finance. He realised that it was helping people rather than finance that he really enjoyed, so he went back to education to train as a psychotherapist.
He completed a Higher Diploma in Psychology in the Dublin Business School and then went on to do a Masters in Systemic (Family) Psychotherapy in the Clanwilliam Institute.
He has worked in two therapy centres during the course of his training, The Clanwilliam Institute and Genesis Psychotherapy Services in Blanchardstown.
He has volunteered for the Clanwilliam Institute doing therapy with primary and secondary school kids, as part of a schools completion program based in Crumlin, at Bray Living Life, which is a low cost therapy centre and for many years with Aware as a support group facilitator.
His approach endeavours to understand people’s problems in a relational context. Working collaboratively with clients to find alternative ways to understand their difficulties – seeking the solution that makes a positive difference to their lives.
